Split pea and bacon soup

Ingredients:
500g dried split peas
200g smoked lardons (or bacon cut into strips)
2 carrots
1 onion
2 bay leaves
thyme
chopped parsley
salt and pepper

Preparation:
1. Soak the split peas overnight in a large pan of water, then wash the split peas and drain them well
2. Peel and chop the onion and the carrots
3. In a pressure cooker, heat a little olive oil and and the chopped onion, the lardons (or bacon strips) and brown for 2 minutes before adding the split peas, carrots, the bay leaves and thyme and covering with water
4. Close the pressure cooker and cook for 20 minutes from when it starts to whistle
5. Blend until smooth with a hand blender
